If we examine Bernd Uhde’s photographs, we quickly come to realize that the works of the German photographer situate themselves between the media of painting and photography. Under the series title Air Real Art, Uhde takes pictures of manmade structures and indentations in rural as well as urban environments. Uhde always works unter the same conditions. Namely, he takes his pictures vertically from a helicopter. Those environmental sections which Uhde captures with his camera, are oftentimes familiar to the photographer, who regards these locations in the sense of ‚readymades‘. According to Uhde, these readymades gain new meaning and perspectives due to the act photographing. The photographic works which are being shown in the exhibition space of Galerie 94, aren’t connected by any geographical allocation. Instead, their common denominator is the color white.
