The series A Quintology of Diaries by Ferit Kuyas dates back to 2010 and is based on polaroid photographs which the artist produced and accumulated during the 1990s as part of an artistic group project. Kuyas concerns himself with remembrance culture and memory. In doing so, Kuyas asks how memories are transformed over time. For this purpose, Kuyas regards digital photography as a possible medium for memory processing. In more detail, the photographer examines possible discrepancies and congressions, that result from intermiaent viewings of his digital photographs and the accompanying subjective memory culture of said photographs. Naturally, Ferit Kuyas’ work evokes strong notions of nostalgia. (Ferit Kuyas)
