The photographer Elena Parris, who was born in Lucerne, strives for complexity in her photographic oeuvre. The photographer thus creates a complex body of work that consists of various multifaceted levels of reference. Oftentimes, Parris plays with contradictions, pushes boundaries and simultaneously defines new limits while doing so.
Parris’ works consist of differentiating media. Namely photography, painting, and writing. The photographer concerns herself with classic compositions and formation processes. In this context, particularly the golden ratio acts as a source of inspiration for Elena Parris. However, her photographic works are not tied to a certain time of creation. Instead, their main focus lays on the notion of all-encompassing positivity.
