Over the years artist Attila Herendi (born in Hungary) successfully transformed himself into a Baden-local icon. Herendi was proficient in various media. An enormous portion of his oeuvre consists of mixed media portraits of well-known personalities. Herendi inimitably managed to capture the essence of people with only a few brush strokes. Often times Herendi’s portraits are accompanied by witty commentary or descriptive sentences. In doing so, Attila Herendi creates a stimulating dynamic between image and text that evokes notions of nostalgia and liveliness.
