The exhibition PAINT/ING/S encompasses the core workings of painter Chrissy Angliker, that were produced in correspondence to the publication of the same name. The paintings present themselves as media-reflective works and thus mirror the artists self-analytical work process.
(1) PAINT: Chrissy Angliker views the medium of paint as her artistic teacher. In summary, Angliker explores the oftentimes fruiuul tensions between control, and loss of control ,that lay at the foundation of her painting process.
(2) PAINTING: The act of painting in and of itself can be seen as an almost sacred act for Chrissy Angliker. Mainly because the artist describes a certain inner urgency that forces her to process and give visibility to inner subject maaers and feelings.
(3) PAINTINGS: Chrissy Angliker understands a painting as an object that captures fleeting moments of inspiration. The painting thus evades any and all claims for knowledge and explanation. Therefore, the main messages which are being carried within Angliker’s oeuvre, concern themselves with the artist’s subjective feelings.
